About PR movie of Sumoto Castle
In the 5th of Reiwa period(in 2023), Sumoto City measured Sumoto Castle and it’s surrounding by using laser scanner. And we got the point group date with there-dimensional coordinate. This movie was made to experience the bodily sensations of charm of stone walls in Sumoto Castles Ruins, by erasing growing trees with using this three-dimensional point group date. We really want you to see this movie.
We release the three-dimensional point group date we got on this project to the public for free at G-Spatial Information Center.

Outline of Sumoto Castle
In 1526, Mr. Atagi who took command of Awaji Navy built Sumoto Castle.
In 1585, Yasuharu Wakisaka entered this and repaired this to present castle of entire stone wall.
In 1609, Mr. Wakisaka moved to Iyo Ozu. And this castle ruined in fact.
When we see the whole Osaka Bay and Ki Channel from the castle tower base of Sumoto Castle, we can watch this water. And we know that it is the best position for taking command of all navy(at any time).
Sumoto Castle is a rare historic site. Magnificent entire stone wall and few ascending stone wall all over Japan which were built in the age of Wakisaka are in existence.
Sumoto City conducts a felling project around Sumoto Castle every year. Because of this, you can see the stone walls from the urban (area). For seeing better the stone wall which is one of attractions of Sumoto Castle, we will conduct this project in the future.
For the 500th anniversary of building Sumoto Castle in 2026, we will still more enliven up.
Recommended points of Sumoto Castle
1 The best position of watching waters. Namely we can look out over Osaka Bay and Ki Channel.
2 Contour group of the magnificent entire stone wall in Western Japan which was built by Mr. Yasuharu Wakisaka.
3 Few ascending stone wall all ober Japan exist.
