In Sumoto City, we promote sustainable community development in which people of all generations can do well.
From this point of view, this event which was blended street culture and local culture, was held on December 28 and 29, 2024.
※ Street Culture : DANCE, DJ, RAP and graffiti.
※ Local Culture : “Takataya Taiko” drum and Mochimaki [spreading rice cake].
The main event was HYPER DANCE BATTLE which was held in 2 categories – All style [Day1] and Breaking [Day2].
This was the battle for total prize money of 1.2 million yen.
Over 200 players from more than 20 prefectures and countries participated in this fierce competition.
And heroes representing Japan – judges of the dance battle, MC and DJ – gathered.
In addition to this dance battles, this event had many highlight.
・Daytime
1 Performance by the local traditional drum group “Takataya Taiko”.
2 Spreading over 3,000 pieces of rice cake “Super Mochimaki”.
3 Performance by dance groups from both inside and outside Awaji Island.
4 Live performance by artists connected to Awaji Island.
5 Live painting fused dance and art by Masanari Tsuji.
6 Talking about Olympic by Olympic athlete Shigekix.
・Nighttime
1 Screening of dance films at the local cinema.
2 Mobile party “WE WANT” based in Osaka. DJ-KOCO a.k.a SHIMOKITA and others livened up the venue.
